The Ministry of Health has reported a new human case of highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N1) virus to WHO.
The case is a 45-year-old female from Menofia governorate who had exposure to domestic poultry. The woman is recovering following treatment with oseltamavir.
Of the 160 confirmed cases to date in Egypt, 55 have been fatal.
