Yellow Fever in Peru (Update)

The Regional Health Director has issued an update on the yellow fever outbreak in Puno. The outbreak has been controlled with no new cases identified since January 2012; to date there have been three deaths reported from yellow fever and 6 suspected cases remain.

Advice for Travellers

Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for those travelling to areas east of the Andes in Peru. Travellers should also take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
