The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has been working with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) on producing information in the format of 'Frequently Asked Questions' (FAQs) on the subject of patient specific directions (PSD).

Questions include:

  • What should the PSD include?
  • Can a prescriber write a PSD and then supply and/or administer the medicine?
