Two new poliomyelitis cases were reported in the past week in Afghanistan. The total number of cases for 2013 is now 11. The two cases were reported from Batikot and Behsud districts in Nangarhar province. All cases in 2013, are reported from Eastern Region, close to the Pakistan border.
Subnational immunization days were conducted 23-25 November with further planned for mid-December.
