WHO has updated the online version of International travel and health to include new country listings for malaria and yellow fever in 2014.
There are no major changes to yellow fever vaccination recommendations, the update mainly includes editorial changes to country requirements for a yellow fever vaccination certificate:
- Ghana and Sao Tome and Principe no longer require a certificate from all travellers entering the country (mandatory), as of now, a certificate is required for all travellers over 9 months of age arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and for travellers having transited more than 12 hours through the airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.
- Several countries have updated their certificate requirement to include travellers having transited more than 12 hours through the airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.
- Haiti, the Syrian Arab Republic, Nicaragua, Panama and Uruguay have removed the certificate requirement for their country.
- Mexico now has a certificate requirement: for travellers over 1 year of age arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission and for travellers having transited more than 12 hours through the airport of a country with risk of yellow fever transmission.
