Five new WPV1 cases were reported in the past week, bringing the country’s total case count to 88 (compared to 18 at this time last year). Two of this week’s cases were reported in previously uninfected districts/areas: Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and Landhi town in Karachi city. The most recent WPV1 case had onset of paralysis on 16 June in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
