Statens Serum Institute (SSI) have advised they will be unable to supply BCG vaccine within the UK in the near future. The current stocks of BCG vaccine have an expiry date of 29 February 2016. To address this issue, Public Health England (responsible for procuring BCG vaccine on behalf of Scotland and the other UK nations) have advised that the current stated shelf life of SSI BCG vaccine batch 114022A can be extended by 6 months from 29 February 2016 to 31 August 2016.
