Advice for Travellers

Clinicians should adhere to current guidance (SMAG and/or ACMP in UK) for malaria chemoprophylaxis for Venezuela. However, travellers should be made aware of the resurgence of malaria in Venezuela, and advised that mosquito bite avoidance should always be considered as the first line of defence against malaria and other mosquito-borne infections.
