Active Zika virus (ZIKV) transmission continues in Florida but at a low rate. As of 15 September 2016 the Florida Department of Health has reported a total of 77 cases of non-travel related ZIKV virus infection. Active investigations are ongoing. Maps of the zones affected in Miami-Dade County can be accessed here
For the purpose of advising travellers Miami-Dade County has been categorised as a High risk area while the State of Florida is considered Moderate risk.
ZIKV is not being locally transmitted in any other state of America.
