On the 10 January 2017 the media reported that approximately a dozen people have been admitted to the Gustavo AldereguĂa Lima hospital in Cienfuegos following malaria diagnosis.
The report asserts that malaria has been detected in Rodas, a municipality in southern central Cuba and alleges that vector (mosquito) control activities are underway.
