The current global shortage of hepatitis A vaccine is ongoing and continues to affect the supply of hepatitis A containing vaccines in the United Kingdom. Consequently it has become necessary to consider options for hepatitis A dose sparing as some products may be unavailable or may need to be prioritised for special risk groups.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) for health professionals in the UK have produced temporary guidance on the use of hepatitis A vaccine during this period of reduced supply. See linked news item for further details.
TRAVAX has produced FAQs designed to answer common queries we are receiving from practitioners regarding the dose sparing options. We will continue to add to these as the situation evolves and further advice is generated, so please visit the FAQ section regularly.
