Malaria in South Africa (Kruger National Park, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces)

On 12 October 2017 the Kruger National Park management Link issued an advisory concerning the increased number of malaria cases in the area surrounding the park in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. Visitors should take precautions to avoid malaria at the present time.

Advice to travellers

Northeast South Africa, where the Kruger National Park is situated, is a high risk area for malaria. Bite avoidance and antimalarial chemoprophylaxis are advised for this area.
