On 17 November 2017, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported 179 suspected cases of yellow fever (including 24 deaths) in Nigeria from 7 September to 7 November 2017. Of these cases, 15 are laboratory confirmed. Cases have been reported from Abia, Borno, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Plateau and Zamfara states.
There is a risk of yellow fever in Nigeria. Vaccination is advised for travellers (unless contraindicated).
Country requirement at entry (WHO): a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over 1 year of age arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
