Immunisation Against Infectious Disease (Green Book) Updates

Public Health England’s online Immunisation Against Infectious Disease Collection, commonly referred to as the Green Book, contains the latest information on vaccines and vaccination procedures, for vaccine preventable infectious diseases in the UK.

Health care professionals involved in immunisation are reminded that the Green Book is continually being updated to reflect changing guidance and this resource should be checked regularly to ensure the most current guidance is being used.  

Recent noteworthy updates include:

• Immunity and how vaccines work: the green book, chapter 1
  • Now includes information on the newest types of vaccine that use the pathogen’s genetic code (DNA or RNA vaccines).
• COVID-19: the green book, chapter 14a
• Provides information on the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines, the dosage and schedule for the UK and recommendations for the use of the vaccine.
