There has been an increase in case numbers of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Canary Islands.
Following a review of the public health risk assessment process, this part of the country has now changed from a moderate to a high risk of exposure to COVID-19.
On the mainland of Spain there is a high risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) and local healthcare capacity may be severely impacted.
On the Canary Islands, there is also a high risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19). Prior to travel, all travellers should consider:
Is the journey necessary?
Their risk of severe COVID-19 and availability of medical facilities at the destination.
Their ability to comply with COVID-19 prevention advice during travel and at their destination.
Further information can be found on the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) page.
