According to the Times of India, a case of Zika virus disease was identified in Shadipur in northeast Delhi in late November 2021. This is the first known occurrence of the disease in the Delhi area.
On 30 November, the Indian Minister of State for Health said India has seen 231 other cases of Zika virus in Uttar Pradesh (147), Kerala (83) and Maharashtra (1) this year.
