Please be advised the TRAVAX Hajj and Umrah page has been updated to provide information on how best to prepare travellers for Hajj and/or Umrah during 1445H/2024, including:
This advice aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Ministry of Health (MoH) official Health Requirements and Recommendations for Travellers to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah 1445H/2024.
Hajj is an annual Islamic religious pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah (Mecca) in Saudi Arabia. Hajj 1445H/2024 will take place between 14 June until 19 June 2024
Pilgrims should be advised to seek urgent medical advice as soon as possible if they feel unwell with symptoms, including fever, cough and/or shortness of breath within 14 days of returning home from Hajj, and always mention their travel history. These symptoms may indicate respiratory infections, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV).
The information leaflet below details how Hajj pilgrims can manage travel-associated risks to enable them to protect themselves, their family and the wider community.
