Please be advised the TRAVAX Hajj and Umrah page has been updated to provide information on how best to prepare travellers for Hajj and/or Umrah during 1446H/2025, including:
This advice aligns with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Ministry of Health (MoH) official Health Requirements and Recommendations for Travellers to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah 1446H/2025.
Hajj is an annual Islamic religious pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah (Mecca) in Saudi Arabia. Hajj 1446H/2025 is expected to occur around 4 to 9 June 2025.
Travellers returning from Saudi Arabia should be advised that they should seek medical advice as soon as possible (by calling their GP / NHS24 on 111 by telephone) if they develop symptoms including fever (38°c or over), cough and/or difficulty in breathing within 14 days of returning home, and always mention their travel history.
Travellers should always phone their GP first before visiting to reduce the risk of spreading the infection to others.
Leaflets providing advice for Hajj pilgrims on how to manage travel-associated risks to enable them to protect themselves, their family and the wider community are in the process of being updated, and will be available in English, Arabic, Bengali and Urdu languages via the resources section.
