Ministry of Health reported that 222 typhoid cases were recorded as of 2nd December, with Kalabo district recording the highest number of 193. No deaths have been reported so far and 19 cases are still under treatment in Kalabo.

Advice for Travellers
Typhoid vaccine is usually recommended for those visiting affected areas. Precautions with food and water hygiene is also recommended as the vaccine is not fully effective in protecting against typhoid fever.
