26 March 2012

The BioBio Health SEREMI (regional governmental ministerial unit) confirmed another patient infected with (a) hantavirus in the region. The number of cases in the country now totals 28.

Advice for Travellers

Hantavirus is a low risk for most travellers. Humans become infected by inhaling dust that contains the virus from the faeces and urine of wild rodents.
