As of 28 Sep 2012, 80 cases of cholera have been reported in Kenya's North Eastern Province. A settlement close to the border with Somalia has been the most affected. Twelve deaths have been reported on the Somalia side. Eighteen cases have been reported in Dadaab.

Advice for Travellers
Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera. A high standard of food, water and personal hygiene should also be maintained.
