Dengue Fever in Greece (Probable) (Update)

As of 28 Sep 2012, the previously reported case of dengue fever in an 84 year old male resident of Agrinio in Greece has been confirmed as a false positive.

Advice for Travellers

Although dengue fever is not a risk in Greece, mosquito bite avoidance is recommended as other mosquito-borne infections are present in parts of Greece e.g. West Nile virus and malaria.
