To date, 647 cases of meningococcal meningitis have been reported from Mali in 2012. In one week in September, 11 suspected cases were reported, 10 in Bamako district and one in Koulikoro.
As of 30 September 2012, 93 cases tested positive for meningococcal serogroup W135, 24 for pneumococcal meningitis and 2 for influenza B.
