As of 17 Dec 2012, 1147 suspected cases of typhoid fever have been reported in Afghanistan. The most affected areas were south and south-east regions.

Advise for Travellers
Typhoid vaccine is usually recommended for all travellers to Afghanistan. Travellers should also maintain a good standard of food and water precautions and personal hygiene.
