Yellow Fever in Peru (Suspected)

A death from suspected yellow fever has been reported in the district of Llochegua, Huanta province, Ayacucho region in the south-central Andes of Peru. The regional government is investigating the suspected case.

Yellow fever vaccine is recommended for travellers entering the Amazonian area of Peru, east of the Andes. Travellers should also take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
