Between 31 Dec 2012 and 24 Feb 2013, 610 cases of cholera with eight deaths have been reported. Cases have been reported in the northern Uige province (286 cases), Cunene (209 cases with four deaths) and Malange (27 cases with three deaths). In the past week, at least 101 cases with one death have been reported in the province of Luanda.

Advice for Travellers
Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera. A high standard of food, water and personal hygiene should also be maintained.
