An increase in measles cases has been reported from New Zealand. In the past month, 24 confirmed cases have been recorded in the country as a whole. Sixteen cases have been connected with a dance competition that took place in Sydney, Australia in December 2013. Of those 16 cases, 13 occurred in Turangi and Taupo. The remaining cases were imported from overseas.
