The Ministry of Health for Uganda reports that the outbreak of meningococcal meningitis in the West Nile sub-region has been contained. The reactive vaccination campaign that was carried out in Adropi and Dzaipi sub-counties in Adjumani district immunised 34 434 individuals in the worst affected areas. A total of 161 cases were recorded during this outbreak.
