22 May 2014

The National Center for Disease Control reported that in April this year (2014), 2 people (females) died from Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). So far in 2014 there have been 5 cases.

Advice for Travellers

CCHF is a low risk for the average traveller; it is spread by infected ticks from a reservoir usually in animals such as cattle, sheep and goats. Avoidance of tick bites is essential in risk areas.
