Poliomyelitis in Somalia (Update)

13 June 2014

One new case of poliomyelitis was reported in Jariban district, Mudug province, Somalia, with onset of paralysis on 11 May. This is the first case to be reported in 2014. The outbreak in Somalia has been slowing, however, this recent case indicated that transmission is ongoing.
