The media has reported on the first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus infection (MERS-CoV) in Bangladesh. The case was identified on Sunday 15 June and is a 53 year-old man who had returned to Bangladesh from the United States via Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The man is receiving medical attention in hospital.
