Antimalarial prophylaxis is recommended for the border areas of Thailand only and bite avoidance measures only, are recommended for the remainder of the country. This advice is unchanged although the situation will be monitored. This report reminds us of the importance of awareness and good bite avoidance measures in the low to no risk areas of malarious destinations.
Please refer to the malaria section of the Thailand country record for further malaria information.
