The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has published their weekly Situation Update on West Nile Fever. As of 22 August 2014, 31 human cases have been reported since the beginning of this years transmission season.
This week, three confirmed West Nile infections were reported in EU countries; one in Vienna, Austria and two in East Attica, Greece. Greece also reported one probable case in Ileia.
Twenty seven confirmed and probable cases have been reported from neighbouring countries:

Travellers should be made aware of the risk of West Nile Fever and be advised to take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
