Hepatitis A in Europe (Outbreak Over)

The 2014, outbreak of heptitis A in Europe, linked to the consumption of frozen berries, has been declared over by ECDC. During the outbreak, cases were reported from several EU/EEA countries including: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Republic of Ireland and Sweden.

Since September 2014, the number of reported hepatitis A cases has returned to normal in the affected countries. Two isolated cases were reported in September and October 2014, one in France and one in Norway.

More than two maximum incubation periods have passed since the last case was confirmed on 30 October 2014.
