Cholera is ongoing in Haiti. Between 3 January - 20 February 2015, 7225 cases, including 5794 hospitalisations and 86 deaths were reported. The number of cases and deaths this year are higher that those recorded during the same time period last year (2014).
Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera. A high standard of food, water and personal hygiene should also be maintained.
