Ross River virus (RRV) infections continue to be reported in Australia. As of 25 April 2015, a total of 6404 cases have been recorded; the highest number in any one year since 1997.
The state of Queensland continues to report the highest number of cases with 4500 recorded.
Seasonal increases in notifications for RRV are expected during the warmer months and nationally peak between January and April, depending on geographical region.
