The Harare City Council health director reported there have been 138 suspected cases of typhoid fever in the past 2 weeks. Also, there have been 15 confirmed cases of typhoid fever from the suburbs of Budiriro, Glen Norah and Hopley.

Typhoid vaccine is usually recommended for those visiting this area. Precaution with food and water hygiene is also recommended as the vaccine is not fully effective in protecting against typhoid fever.
