The outbreak of yellow fever in Angola is ongoing. Since the outbreak was first reported in December 2015, a total of 164 suspected cases and 37 deaths had been reported. The majority of cases (138) have been reported in the province of Luanda. Other affected provinces include Cabinda, Cuanza Sul, Huambo, Huila and Uige.
The national task force has been activated to control the outbreak. Health authorities in Angola are implementing clinical case management, enhanced surveillance, laboratory testing, social mobilization and vector control. The first immunization campaign started in Luanda On 3 February 2016.

There is a risk of yellow fever and vaccination is advised for travellers (unless contraindicated). Travellers should also take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all travellers over 9 months of age entering Angola.
