Media reports that there have been more than 150 cases of whooping cough reported in Sydney in 2016. The Director of Public Health from Sydney Local Health District said that so far in 2016, the local government areas with the highest number of cases have been Canterbury (35), Marrickville (26), Ashfield (23) and Leichhardt (22).
