Advice for Travellers

Avoidance of mosquito bites is recommended. Bite avoidance measures include: covering up with clothing, the use of insect repellent and bed nets impregnated with insecticide. Reduction of mosquito breeding sites around hotel rooms/homes is advised for longer term stays.

If you are pregnant and have recently returned from this country you should arrange to have your next antenatal check promptly, even if feeling well. This is a precautionary measure for reassurance.
