On 23 October 2016 the media reported that the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen has confirmed a total of 644 suspected cases of cholera, including 3 deaths. A total of 31 cases have been laboratory-confirmed so far. Among the deaths, 2 occurred in Sana’a and 1 death in Aden governorate.
In response to the outbreak the World Health Organisation (WHO) is working with the Ministry of Public Health and Population to coordinate the public health response.
