A media report of 3 November 2016 asserts that since Yemen’s Ministry of Public Health and Population first announced the cholera outbreak in Yemen the number of confirmed cases has reached 67, of which 8 have died. Additionally, there are over 2070 suspected cholera cases, of which 38 have died.
The cholera outbreak has exacerbated by the effects of war which has rendered much of the country's health facilities non-operational.
Severe cholera is rare in travellers, mild cases may present as travellers' diarrhoea.
