On 2 January the European Commission updated information on a recall of infant formula manufactured by Lactalis in France. The brands involved are Picot, Milumel and Taranis.
These products are contaminated with Salmonella enterica (ser. agona) and more than 20 cases of salmonellosis in children have been linked to them in France.
The affected products were manufactured by Lactalis in Craon, north-west France from February 2017 onwards.
Sixty-five countries are now affected by the recall. These are: Afghanistan, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Benin, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, China, Republic of Congo, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, France, Gabon, Georgia, Greece, Guinea, Haiti, Hong Kong, Iraq, Ireland, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Niger, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Spain, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, and FYR Macedonia.
Affected products should not be consumed.
