An outbreak of cholera has been reported from Wayanad district in Kerala State. Around 114 individuals from 13 tribal colonies in the district have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment and cholera has been laboratory confirmed. Water treatment is taking place in the affected colonies.
Advice for Travellers
Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population, and cannot ensure safe drinking water, can be immunised against cholera.
