Since 16 August 2011, 13 cases of travel associated Legionnaires’ disease have been notified to the European Legionnaires’ disease surveillance network (ELDSNet). All cases stayed at five different accommodation sites in the town of Lazise, Italy, between 7 July and 31 August 2011.

Advice for Travellers
Travellers should follow local advice. If anyone develops respiratory symptoms whilst in Italy or on return home they should seek the advice of a GP.
