West Nile Virus in Turkey

Three human cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Turkey during the second and the third week in Aug 2011. The cases were from Sakarya, Mugla and Antalya.

Advice for Travellers

West Nile virus is spread by mosquito bites. It has become more widely recognised in Europe in recent years. Travellers should take precautions to prevent mosquito bites especially during summer months.
