Cholera in Central African Republic

05 October 2011

The health minister reports a cholera epidemic in the (southern) health zones of Ombella-Mpoko and Lobaye. Around ten deaths have been registered as a result of the infection.

Advice for Travellers

Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population, and cannot ensure safe drinking water, can be immunised against cholera.
