10 January 2012

The typhoid outbreak in Mufulira, central Zambia is not yet under control. The number of suspected cases has increased to 2094 since the outbreak began last month. There have been two typhoid related deaths so far.

The Ministry of Health for the area says that the situation is slowly stabilising and measures such as water chlorination have been intensified to control the outbreak.
