Cholera cases continue to be reported from Haiti. Between 24 and 29 Oct 2012, 78 cases of cholera with 8 deaths have been reported in Maniche municipality (South). The outbreak occurred after Hurricane Sandy. The flooded river in Cavaillon municipality in the south of the country has contributed to the spread of the outbreak.

Advice for Travellers
Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera. A high standard of food, water and personal hygiene should also be maintained.
