Two new poliomyelitis cases were reported in the past week in Afghanistan. The total number of cases for 2013 is now 14. The first case of 2014, has been reported from Alingar, Langman province, Eastern Region, close to the Pakistan border.
Subnational immunization days are scheduled for February 2014.
